How Men Can Learn More Responsibility From Working

All through high school my grandad would tell me the importance of education because real work is not like sitting on your butt in school.

I of course always took that saying for granted until it actually hit me when I had to get my first real job. It didn’t take me long to realize how much harder work actually was than school and even though it was tough it has taught me plenty of lessons in life already at my youngish age.

How Working For Something Can Make You Appreciate It More

You’ve probably seen something happen or maybe have been that person when you were younger where you started to earn an allowance for helping around the house and you wanted something from the store but didn’t want to spend your money because you wanted to keep it.

This recently happened with my daughter where she got money for helping rake leafs and she wanted to go to the store to buy something, when we got there she realized she didn’t have enough and wanted me to pay for it instead, of course!

As hard as it was for me I told her no and she could buy something smaller in which ultimately she did. Well after buying that toy with her money I noticed how much more careful she was on where she left it and whether or not the dogs were around when she was playing with it.

This helped remind me that even kids as young as my daughter (8) can learn the value of hard work in terms of how they take care of items they have worked for.

I realize the title of this is what men can learn but this scenario hit me square in the face when I was writing this and figured that it fit perfectly with the overall topic so don’t judge me!

More Responsibility… In my opinion most kids get their first real dose of responsibility in high school where they have to get themselves up for school, be there at a certain time and overall have their work done.

Sure the consequences are nowhere near as severe as in school if they don’t do something as it would be in a work scenario but hey everyone has to start somewhere, right?

This is another reason I highly encourage parents to try and get kids into some sort of sports because it helps them more than just being able to be physically fit, it helps build traits they will use later in life such as more responsibility.

Getting a little off topic here because this article isn’t about high school.

When working you will face things such as deadlines, being on time, being accurate and possibly being in charge of people to make sure that they do all of those things.

Being held accountable for all of these and more will either make sure you’re a responsible person, make you become one or will most likely force you into looking for another job.

Work To Survive

Going to bring a recent reference here as someone who is big into The Walking Dead T.V Show.

Something that comes up a lot in the show is when someone wants to join a group they always say something like, “I’ll do my part” or “I’ll earn my keep”. This basically means that they’re not free loaders who will just lay around and expect to be fed for doing nothing.

Even though this is just a show the meaning behind those statements use to be pretty much a given back in the day or the free loaders didn’t eat.

Luckily in today’s time we don’t have to go out and hunt every meal but we do still need to get up and put in our 40 hours (or more) during the week to make sure we have the money to be able to purchase that food.

This becomes a thousand times more important when you have others such as kids who are counting on you.

Shouldn’t Men Already Have Learned Responsibility Be Time They Start Working?

You might think this but a lot of times nowadays kids grow up without a male role model in their life and they don’t learn a lot of what our Dads, Granddads or Coaches teach us.

They tend to skate through school and life at a younger age without knowing a hint of responsibility with stuff like it’s everyone else’s fault.

That can be very detrimental for when getting into the workforce because for someone who thinks they have been right all their life and never been told otherwise, they will have no clue how to react when it comes to being chewed out by their boss for something that they DID do wrong.

Final Thoughts

I wrote this article for the reason of letting others know, especially those with young ones who look up to them that it’s never too early to teach your kids about responsibility. Next time your little one asks for money, give them a chore to do to earn it.

This can be something as small as helping with the dishes. I truly believe that this helps them in the long run rather than just handing over the money, no matter how much they beg. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed the article.

Turning The Other Cheek In The 21st-Century

Christian Statue

Most of us have heard the phrase about turning the other cheek when someone starts to bully you or try to start a fight with you. More specifically you most likely heard or read this somewhere in church because this is from the bible.

You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also. -Matthew 5:38-39

Well, how does that work in today’s time with Christians? Does that mean us (Christians) are supposed to just let people hit us and not defend ourselves?

What if you do fight back? Does that make you wrong?

These are the questions I’ve struggled with after reading this in the Bible. Speaking as someone who had no faith growing up I wasn’t one to start fights but I would surely never let someone start something without reacting in some sort of way physically.

Fast forward to me becoming a Christian, my response to wanting to physically stand up for myself or others became much more complicated from that single bible verse mentioned above.

I don’t really think there is a black-and-white answer here I think there is definitely a grey area and I think it’s a huge gray area, I believe that God knows that you have to stand up for yourself and those that you care about or certain people will just run all over you in life.

Then on other hand I find myself trying to interpret the Bible in a way that it fits the way I want it to mean.

This if something that a lot of people do because there are a lot of confusing parts in the Bible that don’t seem to have a direct meaning to most of us reading it so we try to guess or make that verse fit for whatever reason we want it to.

Doing this is one of the most dangerous things you can do when reading the Bible which is why I recommended getting a Bible that has modern day explanations to go along with it so that you can try to eliminate this as much as possible.

I’m getting a little off track here.

What Do Others Think About This

I have went back-and-forth with friends, family and everybody else about what they think about this and I’ve gotten so many mixed results.

Overall it seems they come to same type of answer which is basically that don’t let someone run all over you, defend yourself in situations where you need to.

However with that said, don’t go out looking to throw down with anyone who make look at you funny.

If someone starts to actually start to fight you for whatever reason then standing up for yourself is not a bad thing and you shouldn’t feel bad for it.

How I Came To My Type Of Thinking On This

Instead of me just trying to pretend this is what this verse means and that’s final type of thinking I went looking for some sort of connections with it in the Bible.

I won’t list all of them but I’m going to list the one that did stand out to me the most.

Most of us have heard of Samson In The Bible, the man given great strength to help fight his enemies but lost his powers when he cut his hair. Ignoring the hair part here, why would God give Samson such valuable strength if it wasn’t to defend himself and those around him?

This was a main reason where I realized that God knows there are bad people on this earth and sometimes we have to take a stand against them where some of those times being where physical altercations comes into play.

Final Thoughts

I know most of us wish we we’re as big as Tim Tebow so that most of the time our size could be the deterrent from anyone even trying to start anything with us or our friends.

Unfortunately we’re all not blessed with this. This leaves us with at some point in our lives to where we’re put in a position where we may need to defend ourselves or those around us.

I’m not advocating violence in no way, shape or form, unless that violence is in the form of tackling on the football field!

I just don’t want my fellow Christian brothers out their to feel about standing up for yourselves. Please let me know if you feel different and why on this topic because I always enjoy a good discussion on things such as this.

Thanks for sticking with me till the very end!

Best Natural Organic Beard Oil That Is Unscented 2019

beard guy

Let’s take a look at how the beard oils rank without the smell being factored into the equation. So with this we’ll be focusing more on how well the beard oils work on controlling beard itch, helping shape your beard, preventing beardruff and just the overall way it makes your beard feel.

Note that companies can update their formula so be sure to check the ingredients before you purchase/use, don’t rely on this ingredient list as your only resource for it.

CanYouHandlebar Temperance

Ingredients:

  • Olive Oil
  • Grapeseed Oil
  • Vitamin E
  • Rice Bran Oil
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Meadowfoam Seed Oil

This beard oil is just like the Wisdom Beard Oil that I mentioned in our other beard oil article but this one is an unscented version.

This was a smart move by them because they have the smell and effects of the wisdom beard oil down perfectly but for those with allergies or just generally don’t like the smell would be out of luck, so making an unscented version was good thinking.

For the quality and the price of this beard oil you’ll have a hard time finding many worthy rivals to match it.

This oil is great for smoothing out and helping tame unruly beard hairs.

Mountaineer Brand Natural Barefoot (Unscented)

Ingredients:

  • Grapeseed Oil
  • Sweet Almond Oil
  • Castor Oil

This beard oil (the scented version) would have easily made it into my top 3 favorite beard oils but I just was never fond of the scent of it. I was really fond of how well it worked on my beard but the smell just didn’t do it for me.

Maybe in time if they release different scents I’ll find one of them I like but for now I go with their unscented versions.

If you’re looking for something just purely to get your beard much softer to help fight against the beard itchiness, then I suggest this one all the way.

Prophet and Tools Unscented

Ingredients:

  • Vitamin E Oil
  • Aloe Vera Oil
  • Chamomile Oil
  • Jojoba Oil

This beard oil has really taken off in terms of popularity since it first got released, now whenever I see anything about beard oil mentioned this brand is usually somewhere in that conversation.

The Prophet and Tools Unscented Beard Oil is one of the fewest ingredient oils that I’ve used.

I like this because less is more in my opinion, not reason to throw more ingredients at something that already does a great job.

For no scent beard oils this one is one of the best ones I’ve come across.

Honest Amish Fragrance Free

Ingredients:

  • Avocado Oil
  • Virgin Pumpkin Seed Oil
  • Sweet Almond Oil
  • Apricot Kernel Oil
  • Golden Jojoba Oil
  • Virgin Moroccan Argan Oil
  • Kukui Oil

Honest Amish is a very well know brand that for the most part focuses on more natural based products.

So it’s no surprise that their beard oil has been over whelming popular.

If you’re looking for a reliable beard oil that you feel you get your money’s worth out of it then take a look at this one.

They also offer a scented version that still comes in natural ingredients if you’re interested in having some sort of fragrance in it.

Rocky Mountain Barber Company 100% Natural

Ingredients:

  • Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil
  • Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil
  • Arganil Spinosa (Argan) Kernal Oil
  • Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil
  • d-Alpha Tocopherol
  • Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract

This beard oil was a surprise for me because I originally went to purchase their hair pomade but I accidentally bought beard oil somehow.

No idea how because they looking nothing alike but it must have been late and that’s the excuse I’m sticking with!

Anyways I figured what they heck, I didn’t have a beard at the time so left it on my dresser to where I finally got to use it after a few months around the of no shave November.

Enough of story time, the product did my beard wonders and completely got rid of my beard itch that was driving me insane.

The Gentlemen’s Beard Oil

Ingredients:

  • Organic Helianthus Anuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil
  • Organic Argania Spinosa (Argan) Seed Oil
  • Organic Oenothera Biennia (Evening Primose) Seed Oil
  • Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (JoJoba) Seed Oil
  • Tocopherols (Vitamin E)

They mentioned that the ingredients may be different from what’s listed so to always check the packaging.

I figure this means they may adjust their formula at some point in the future so just a heads up on that. This a truly organic non scented beard oil that has no fillers, fragrances, additives, parabens or GMOs.

A great oil to focus on making your beard smoother and have an overall better look to it. As a side note they have great beard balms as well.

Which One To Choose

I laid these beard oils out in order that I liked them but these are grooming types of products so what works great for my beard hair may not be the same for yours. This is why it’s very difficult to pick a one overall winner that everyone will like.

Overall though the oils on this list have gotten a very favorable liking from many people so if you have the time read some other reviews and also take a look at what people are saying on their Amazon reviews.

If you go with one of the oils on this list and want to share your opinion on it then let me know, I always appreciate feedback on my lists.

Also, if you like a beard oil that’s not on this list that you think should be then also let me know because it may be one I haven’t tried yet or possibly heard of.

Just remember this list is for unscented and natural ingredient beard oils only, my other list covers the other types. Anyways I’m going to call this article here, thanks for reading. I’ll be updating this list as I come across new products so be sure to keep checking back!

Top 5 Rated Best Mens Beard Oil Softener Products Reviewed

beard guy

In this article we’re going to focus on my picks for the top rated best beard oil brands and products themselves.

If you’re unsure of what beard oil is or just looking for more general information about it then check out this article I’ve written previously which covers a lot of common questions most people tend to ask about beard oils.

I’ll be covering multiple products in this article so that you can find exactly the beard oil that you’re looking for.

GRAVE BEFORE SHAVE Gentlemen’s Blend Beard Oil (Bourbon Scent)

Ingredients:

  • Tea Tree Oil
  • Pure Apricot Oil
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Sweet Almond Oil
  • Vitamin E
  • Aloe Vera & Some Essential Oils

To start off I’ll talk about the smell from this oil. It is probably the manliest smelling yet refreshing type of smell that I’ve found in a beard oil.

I find myself sometimes just opening the bottle to smell it just for the heck of it.

Moving past the smell it still has to do something for how our beard fills right? Well no worries here, let’s just say the smell hooked me and the effects on the beard reeled me in.

I get a very smooth feeling with a little bit of shine type to my beard after using this product.

CanYouHandlebar Wisdom Beard Oil

Ingredients:

  • Olive Oil
  • Grapeseed Oil
  • Rice Bran Oil
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Meadowfoam Seed Oil
  • Vitamin E

Trying to decide between the wisdom beard oil & the gentleman’s blend that we mention above for which comes in as my favorite had me literally redoing this article many a times.

Finally I just said these two are both of my favorites because I flat out can’t choose between the two.

The Wisdom Beard Oil comes in with a very good smelling woodsy manly scent that my girlfriend just loves; I swear it’s got some sort of pheromones or something in it that causes her to get ‘excited’. No complaints on my end.

Speaking of my girlfriend she not only loves the smell but how it softens up my beard to boot. She would always complain of how prickly my beard felt when kissing her which actually led me to finding out about beard oils.

So smell = check, softness = check and a check on the clean look it gives my beard after using it in the mornings.

Wild Willie’s Beard Oil The Manskape Co

Ingredients:

  • Apricot Kernel Oil
  • Grapessed Oil
  • Gold Jojoba Oil
  • Castor Oil
  • Argan Oil
  • Emu Oil
  • Tea Tree Essential Oil
  • Cedarwood Essential Oil
  • Rosemary Essential Oil

As you can tell this beard oil contains a multitude of oils to make it up and it also contains some other vitamins as well.

I really enjoy the smell from this oil it’s not as strong as the other I’ve listed above which could be a good or bad thing depending on who you ask.

You might think that looking at the lengthy ingredient profile that this beard oil is trying to do too much by being a jack of all trades.

For the 3 main reasons that I use beard oil this does exactly what I want my oil to do which is soften my beard, help prevent beard itch and leave my beard smelling better than it did before I put it on. All 3 of these you can put a check mark by.

Woodsman Beard Oil by The Bearded Bastard

Ingredients:

  • Sweet Almond Oil
  • Safflower Oil
  • Grapeseed Oil
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Argan Oil
  • Olive Oil
  • Castor Oil
  • Natural Fragrance

With this scent it aims for woodsy type of smell which they definitely hit the nail on the head with it.

The scent reminds me of how the forest area would smell in the mornings when I’d wake up from camping.

It was kind of a combination of the pine straw, the tree sap and other things.

Really hard to put an exact match on the scent per say but they did a great job with it never the less.

GRAVE BEFORE SHAVE Caramel Mocha Blend Beard Oil (Caramel Mocha Coffee Scent)

Ingredients:

  • Tea Tree Oil
  • Pure Apricot Oil
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Sweet Almond Oil
  • Vitamin E
  • Aloe Vera
  • Some Essential Oils

Yes, you read that correctly a caramel mocha coffee scent.

I absolutely love the way this smells.

It has a much different smell than most beard oils because it goes for a more sweet type of smell opposed to the more manly type of scent.

By sweet don’t confuse this for a girl perfume type of smell.

Its name is pretty dead on with how it smells; it gives off a slight chocolate chip cookie in the oven type of smell as well.

I tend to swap out this type of scent one week for the more outdoorsy/manly type on another week.

Which Beard Oil Should You Buy

I have tried to cover as much Ive could in terms of different beard oils and how others my be looking for something different in their oils. Overall all of the oils on the list get a thumbs up by me.

I say find one give it a shot then if you don’t like it at least you know one that you won’t be using ;). The best part is most of these beard oils are pretty cheap so even if you happen to not like one that you buy it won’t really hurt your wallet to much overall.

Note that beard oils are only one piece of the beard grooming puzzle, don’t forget other tools such as your trimmer.

These are my overall favorite beard oils but if you’re looking for more specific ones then you might be interest in some of our other beard oil articles about different kits, all natural ones, unscented ones and most likely more to come.

If you have any recommendations for ones that might deserve to be on this list then let me know as I’ll be updating it overtime when I find new ones that I like.

Any questions or comments just leave them on the article below.
