In this article we’ll be looking at my review of the Bvlgari Man In Black mens cologne fragrance.
As an avid cologne collector, I have already collected a wide range of signature fragrances, some of which are my top favorites. Among one of these brands is Bvlgari.
In their 130th anniversary, the brand released a fragrance in celebration of being industry for many years. As a fan of Bvlgari, I expected a lot from the Bvlgari Man in Black Cologne and after trying it myself, the brand did not disappoint me.

Released in 2014, Bvlgari Man in Black finally made its comeback following the launching of the previous Bvlgari Man in Black that was released in 2010.
The cologne is marketed as a charismatic, enticing and bold fragrance that depicts the characteristics of a modern man. The creation of this cologne came from a myth- the inception of Vulcan known as the god of Earth.
Created by Alberto Morillas, the brand came up with a fragrance that has an intense composition, strong and very appealing to the senses.
Top notes used for this cologne include spices and natural rum. The very core of this fragrance is comprised of leather, iris absolut and tuberose. The base notes used are guaiac wood,tonka bean and benzoin.
Composition: The original Bvlgari Man in Black did not appeal to me that much the first time I tried it. But it’s a different thing with the new Bvlgari Man in Black.
It is intense in a good way, not like the kind of fragrance that you find in male fragrances today, too strong and overbearing.
The harmonious blend of the different ingredients like woods, spices, leather and amber give life to this cologne. When the fragrance opens up, you can already smell some hints of leather notes, tubercose, spices, rum and iris.
I personally like the initial scent as the rum and spices perfectly blend. As the other notes perfectly mix with the core of the scent, you have a modern fragrance that is very refreshing and intense. This what makes the composition of this scent unique in its own right.
Best Use: The Bvlgari Man in Black has an intense scent and strong composition. It actually depends on your choice as to whether you want to use it for daily use but many find it best to use for business occasions or special events.
In my case since I want a lighter scent for daytime wear, I usually wear stronger scents like the Bvlgari Man in Black for special occasions or at night time.
Longevity: With the notes used, you can only expect how intense this scent is which also follows that you never have to worry about longevity. The Bvlgari Man in Black is very much long lasting.
If you want to use it for daytime wear, you will be surprised that the scent still lingers after the day ends. Its longevity is simply amazing.
Conclusion
The question as to whether you should wear the Bvlgari Man in Black would basically depend on one thing- preference.
Those who really like strong scents will surely like the Bvlgari Man in Black. On the other hand, if you are tilting towards clean and lighter scent, this may not be the one for you.
But looking at its over-all quality, the scent is nice even though it is quite strong. The intensity is just right. It is not overbearing unlike other scents. But on top of that, the longevity of this cologne is really good.
