In this article, I will be giving you my review of the Insanity Max 30 workout program.

This is a home DVD workout program similar to others such as P90X for those who may be unsure of what this may be.

Even though I say similar they are also very different, for example, Insanity is all body weight exercises and P90X focuses on using a lot of weights and resistance bands.

Let’s look in details of what you can expect from this program.

What Are The Pros And Cons

Pros

  • No Equipment Needed
  • Short Workouts 30 Minutes
  • Motivational Instructor In Shaun T
  • Results
  • No Commutes Or Gym Membership Fee

Cons

  • It Takes Time To Be Able To Keep Up With Their Pace
  • The Upfront One-time Cost

How Long Does It Take To See Results

This depends on how in shape you already are and how well you follow the program and your diet.

I’ll say if you go from not being very active and eating junk often to doing this program and eating right you should start to see results the first week.

Try not to check the mirror and weight scale every day try to get on schedule checking it once every two weeks.

Is It Hard To Do

Yes, but that’s a good thing. If it was easy to do then the results would be poor in my opinion. And when I say hard to do I don’t mean it’s impossible.

The workouts are of course hard to do if you haven’t worked out for a while but just keep staying with it and they get easier and easier as your body adjusts and gets stronger.

I myself could only do 10 minutes of the some of the workouts and then next time I would make it to 15 minutes then 20 and so on until I was able to knock out the entire 30 minutes.

It’s a work your way up to it, which is how fitness is in general.

What Equipment Do You Need

That’s one of the best things about this program is that you don’t need any equipment, it’s all body weight exercises.

I mean if you find the workout to be too easy for you then you could always add some extras into like ankle weights or wearing a weighted vest maybe ( Just a thought, never done this).

Does It Really Work?

Absolutely, but it requires a commitment on your end.

You can’t just watch the videos while sitting on your couch, you have to put in the time and effort, not only with the workouts but eating right as well.

As long as you stay committed and don’t throw in the towel the results should come. Just keep pushing yourself to do every workout even if you can’t finish it that day.

Google Insanity Max 30 results and you can get an idea of people who have done this program and see some before and after photos to help you get a better idea of how it worked for them.

Some of those results defiantly surprised me.

Where To Buy

The only places I know to buy it are online, I don’t know of any retail stores that carry it or at least none off the top of my head. The main places I know to buy it are beachbody.com, which is the owners of the program or you can go to Amazon’s website and buy it from there, which is where I bought mine.

You could always check on Facebook or somewhere local to see if you find someone who may be selling their own copies that they no longer use.

Should You Buy It

I will say it does exactly what I expected it to do. If you’re looking for a program where you can tone up, lose weight and have someone guide you through workouts all while helping you stay motivated then I think this program should be right up your alley.

Only you can really know if it will work for yourself or not but I personally think highly of this program and think Beachbody/Shaun T did a great job putting it together.

Final thoughts

There have been plenty of home DVD workout programs over the years but what really started the trend was Insanity and P90X.

This trend was not a coincidence, these programs got so popular because they worked and people started seeing the results from them and they wanted to experience those same results.

Where most people had an issue though with these programs were the workouts were too long, with myself being included with that thought.

With this version of Insanity they cut the workouts down to 30 minutes. Now I literally have nothing to complain about with this program, I think Shaun T does a great job of motivating, instructing and actually teaching while he does this.

Overall, I think you’ll like this program, you may not like it when it’s pushing you through the toughest workouts you’ve done in awhile, but you will definitely like the results as long as you stay with it.
