Among men, you barely find one who does not own a Ralph Lauren polo or shirt. In the fashion industry, the brand is always one of the top choices if not the number 1 choice of most men.
But they do not just dominate the clothing industry for men. In fact, they have also successfully released a wide array of fragrances for men coming up with different types of scents and blending various ingredients to create distinct fragrances.
And if you are like me who is into timeless and classical pieces, you should try the original polo. This cologne is one of the two fragrances that they launched.
With its outstanding success, the brand has released various fragrances that finally sealed the place of the brand as one of the world’s most renowned fragrance brands.

This cologne was released in 1978. Created by perfumer Carlos Benaim, the Ralph Laure Polo exudes the timelessness and the classic scent that men of all ages will appreciate.
It exudes a masculine scent that is beautifully made. The cologne has a very manly scent especially since it does not have floral notes unlike other signature fragrances.
It does use chamomile but this ingredient has a grassier scent than that of a floral scent. The top notes for this scent includes thyme, basil and Artemisia as well as cloves, coriander and cumin.
The very heart of the Ralph Lauren Polo uses conifer woods, vetiver, oakmoss and patchouli followed by its base notes that use thyme, tobacco and leather.
Composition: The composition of this fragrance is very distinct which gives it a nice projection. The fragrance opens up with a green and a really fresh scent with its notes of thyme, basil and Artemisia and since it uses ingredients like cloves, cumin and coriander, you get to have a cologne that has spicy notes that is just right and not too strong.
The very heart of the fragrance gives you its masculine scent with notes of vetiver, oakmoss and patchouli followed by leathery notes. The composition of this fragrance is just great as it has maintained its freshness from the beginning all the way to the end.
Best Use: With its over-all scent quality, it is the type of fragrance that you can wear at any time of the day or wherever you go.
Unlike most classic fragrances that can be way over the top and you might find difficult to partner with your attire, the Ralph Lauren Polo is a versatile fragrance that you can wear anytime.
Longevity: Another positive aspect of this cologne is that it has this amazing staying power. The longevity is simply commendable. You only have a few sprays of this cologne and it is already good to go for the whole day.
The Ralph Lauren Polo has stood the test of time not because it is one of the two initial product offerings of the brand in their fragrance lineup but simply because it showcases the quality, elegance and timeless characteristics of the brand.
The over-all scent quality is amazing and its projection is really great. You can wear it in almost any occasion and you also have a fragrance that can last for several hours in a day.
I simply cannot find anything negative about this cologne except if you are the type who is not into these kinds of scents which is very much understandable considering people differ in preferences.
But apart from that, this cologne has fared well in almost all aspects. No wonder it has lasted this long!
