Let’s take a look at our review of RAD-140 or Testolone, an experimental compound that is currently being researched for use in the treatment of muscle degeneration and cancer. It is classified as a SARM and it modulates some of the body’s metabolic processes in select tissue types.

Disclaimer: We are not recommending taking this product, yet simply reviewing the product based on our research. RAD-140 (Testolone) is sold for research purposes only & is not approved for human use or consumption! Please do your own research before making any decisions related to RAD-140 (Testolone).

Where To Buy RAD-140 Testolone

ProvenPeptides is a reputable provider of SARMs & does have RAD-140 (Testolone) available for purchase.

Current medical status

Currently, RAD-140 is not being prescribed to treat any medical condition as it has not yet been fully cleared for regular use in humans. However, current trends show that professional bodybuilders and athletes are already using this research compound to enhance their performance and physical capabilities.

SARMS or selective androgen receptor modulators are compounds that bind to the androgen receptor, which is normally activated (under more natural conditions) by the male hormone testosterone. Testosterone is naturally produced by the body, but its effects can be approximated by both steroids and SARMs.

To clarify, SARMs can create similar secondary effects that are normally associated with steroids, but these compounds are not steroids. It just so happens that they can bind to the specific receptors in tissues to express certain genes, which consequently produces metabolic changes in the body.

Testolone and breast cancer

Current studies on this experimental compound are focused in determining if RAD-140 can help individuals suffering from muscle deterioration and breast cancer.

Breast cancer is one of the more common types of cancer in women, and if left untreated, can easily metastasize or spread to other organs, such as the liver, lungs, bones, etc.

Compounds that have androgenic effects such as testosterone and androastenedione are used in hormone replacement therapies in situations where the body is not producing enough of the natural hormone to sustain normal metabolic processes in the body.

Testosterone and physical development

The male hormone testosterone is responsible not just for the secondary sexual characteristics of males, but also for the normal development of bones, teeth, skin, etc.

Physical strength, muscular endurance and other aspects of the physiology that are associated with physical performance are also associated with the male hormone. Having too much or too little of the natural male hormone in the body can lead to disease.

When the body doesn’t have enough of the male hormone, it undergoes marked changes, like loss of bone density, brittle bones, loss or reduction of lean muscle mass, reduction of muscular endurance, etc.

Side effects of testosterone

However, let it be known that hormone replacement therapy with androgenic compounds does have its downsides or side effects.

Among the known side effects in are liver damage, testicular masses, infertility (in both men and women), prostate cancer and “roid rage” or psychotic breaks from reality, as a result of long-term use of steroids.

Due to the serious risks and side effects associated with androgenic substances, researchers have taken upon themselves to find out if SARMs can help reduce the risk factors associated with hormone replacement therapy by introducing newer, more experimental compounds such as RAD-140 or Testolone.

In recent years, the extensive studies done on Testolone and other affiliated compounds have yielded mostly positive results, mainly because SARMs only activate secondary, hormone-associated effects in select tissues.

For instance, Testolone is associated with muscles and bones, it won’t cause the same amplified metabolic effect on the liver, stomach or intestines. The same cannot be said when you use more conventional compounds such as as synthetic testosterone, though these compounds have been in vogue in certain fields for decades now.

RAD-140 has a unique chemical structure that does two things: it does not mimic testosterone, which means it won’t cause secondary effects in other organs and second, it is able to maintain the integrity of its chemical structure as it is metabolized, which means it won’t be transformed to any other compound once it passes through the kidneys or liver.

In animal studies, RAD-140 has shown low toxicity in the liver (i.e. it does not cause any undue increases in the production of enzymes in this organ) and it also does not stimulate any tissue growth in the testes or in other sex organs (like the ovaries in women).

This is good news as any damage caused by overstimulation due to androgenic substances can cause permanent damage or chronic disease.

Potential Medical Benefits

As for the potential uses in RAD-140 once it has been approved for regular human use, researchers have hinted on the following medical benefits:

Lean muscle development

Severe, chronic diseases such as AIDS and many types of advanced cancers cause massive lean muscle tissue loss and fat loss. Uncontrollable weight loss is exceedingly common in patients suffering from these conditions.

RAD-140 has shown potential in reversing muscle and bone degeneration. If taken, RAD-140 stimulates the growth of both types of tissues while omitting other organs, making it safer than synthetic male hormones.

Selectivity is its primary strength as a healing compound; current research shows that it does not stimulate overgrowth of the prostate gland, which can then result either in prostate-related blockages, tumor growth or even prostate cancer.

Breast cancer

AR/ER+ breast cancer has also been proven responsive to Testolone. While Testolone’s secondary effects is primarily associated with bone and muscle growth, it has also been shown to suppress or combat the growth and spread of cancer cells.

How is Testolone able to do this? When Testolone is absorbed by the body, it selectively prohibits the action of estrogen in select tissues. Estrogen has been linked to accelerated tumor growth. Breast cancer can rapidly metastasize through the creation of multiple tumors throughout the breast tissue.

Better brain and nerve health

Another interesting benefit of RAD-140 is it may support individuals who are suffering from chronic, degenerative neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.

It’s able to accomplish this by protecting the nervous system from amyloid beta proteins, which are considered the main culprits in causing irreparable damage to the brain tissue.

While the rese results are derived from animal studies, RAD-140 shows much promise as mammalian tests are often indicative to a certain percentage of success once testing is done on humans in Phase 1 medical studies.

Again, RAD-140 is not converted to estrogen and other hormones, even as it is being metabolized by the body. It retains its structure and continues performing its primary actions throughout its ‘life’ inside the body.

This is one of the SARMs in our series of reviews.
