In this article we’ll be looking at my review of the Versace Eros mens cologne fragrance.
When I came across with Versace Eros, the name of the scent reminded me of the Greek mythology, the gods and goddesses, the burning desire and passion.
Just by looking at it and how it is elegantly packaged, this cologne poses mysterious and striking appeal which entices anyone to try it.
Pros And Cons Of Versace Eros Mens Cologne
- Has A Very Elegant And Classic Packaging Which Makes It Very Enticing And A Nice Gift Option For Family, Friends And Your Special One
- Gives You Just The Right Blend Of Light And Soft Elements Combined With Oriental And Woody Notes
- Exudes A Masculine Scent That Is Bold, Sensual, Daring And Very Appealing
- This Is The Kind Of Scent That Will Draw A Lot Of Compliments
- The Only Downside Is That The Longevity Is Not That Excellent Compared To Other Fragrances
Created by Aurelien Guichard, the Versace Eros is a marketed as fresh, woody and oriental fragrance that has a Greek touch. In fact, the cologne is named after the son of the Greek goddess Aphrodite who is the goddess of love.
The flacon of this fragrance is designed using a turquoise colored class and the head of Medusa at the top of the bottle.
The fragrance is the type of scent that embodies the audacity and boldness of character of a man who fights for what he wants, defends his ideas and reaches for his goals. The Versace Eros may have a classical touch but it is the scent for modern men.
Composition: The very composition of this scent is amazing, a manly fragrance that exudes that woody fresh notes. It is bold, daring and has this oriental touch that will surely invigorate the senses.
The fruity notes with its green apple and the citrus note using lemon combined with ambroxan from Venezuela and geranium flowers, the over-all quality of this scent is simply superb giving you that great projection.
It has that sensual appeal that once you wear it on your skin, you will surely draw a lot of compliments from people near you.
Best Use: This light but very manly scent is a highly versatile fragrance, the kind of cologne you can wear whether you are doing your daily errands, going to work or even when you are going out on a date.
The scent is light and has a soft side but it is also strong and manly, but definitely not the kind of scent that is too dominating to the point that it is already overbearing. You can wear the Versace Eros anywhere you go and at any time of the day.
Longevity: Now let’s look at the longevity. In as much as I super the nice smell of this cologne, I find it not long lasting.
When I spray the cologne on my skin, it took about a few minutes for the scent of the Eros’ character to surface. Although it stays on the skin for hours, its longevity is not as great as other Versace colognes and other signature fragrances in the same type of scent.
The quality and uniqueness of a scent depend not just on the rarity and the mixture of ingredients used but also the concept behind the scent itself.
Being a collector of colognes, I always find myself being amazed with how perfumers would conceptualize their fragrances.
Given that the longevity is not that great, is the product still worth the buy?
In my humble opinion, I still think it is. After all, the over-all composition of this cologne is just distinct and very appealing.
The way how the brand was able to combine the elements into a sensuous medley without resulting to either a too light or too strong type of scent is amazing.
You barely find this kind of scent and projection since some fragrances may either be too strong or too light that even women can wear it.
Versace Eros is a daring, sensual, light and masculine scent with woody and oriental notes. Over-all, I think Versace Eros is a must try cologne.
